Maintenance Supervisor

Staffpower Group are currently recruiting for Multi Skilled Maintenance Supervisor for our client based in Gateshead who specialise in high volume metal pressing for the automotive industry.

The Role

Responsible for a small maintenance team, you will provide multi skilled support in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the plant facilities

• Providing full maintenance support to production to minimise down time
• Responding to breakdowns as and when they occur
• Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
• Identifying reliability issues, root cause problem solving and improvements
• Ensuring all machinery and equipment on site is both mechanically and electrically safe
• Liaising and working with outside contractors when required

The person

A good communicator with proven management and organisational skills, coupled with a mandatory technical qualification in either a mechanical or electrical discipline. The successful candidate will also possess the personal attribute to drive improvements in all areas of the department.

• At least 5 years’ experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment, ideally automotive.
• Time served maintenance engineer
• Supervisory experience
• Experience with Mechanical Power Presses, Robotics and Various Welding Machines
• Good understanding/knowledge of mechanical skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
• Commitment to Health and Safety Procedures
• Strong electrical and mechanical problem solving skills
• Experience of maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic and oil and grease lubrication systems
• Knowledge and experience of motor drives and panel building
• Fork Lift and MEWP License would be desirable

Hours of work 39 hours per week,

Monday to Thursday 0730am to 1630pm,

Friday 0730am to 1230pm, must be flexible

Salary Range £40,000 – £45,000
